About Drifter Designs

Drifter Designs was developed to assist traveling designers find free wifi internet connection spots and freelance work as they drift from city to city. It's our goal to become the number one bookmarked source and first stop for all drifting designers. A place they can trust to find their next life line wifi connection so that they can engage with current clients and even find more work to fund their travels.

What exactly is a drifting designer you ask? Well, A drifter is a person who moves aimlessly from place to place, usually without a regular 9 to 5 job. As digital designing started to become more and more popular, we've found that more drifters tend to have skills from pervious employment or even a hobby that stems from design related fields.

As more people lose their jobs and homes due to a fragile economy, more difters are born. Wandering aimlessly from city to city looking for work and trying to survive. Some of these new drifters still have laptop computers with design softwares on them. It just made sense to me (As a former drifter) to reach out to this niche group of people and offer a helping hand in some way. So, I've compiled lists of free wifi spots all across America and a few other countries, as well as compiled a list of freelance sites that have a proven track record of paying freelancers in an effort to help.

While some people are forced to drift by events out of their control, there are also other breeds of drifting designers that just love to travel and do it by choice. Just to name a few drifter types for those still unsure: 1.) Hitch hicking drifter living out of their backpack, 2.) Auto drifter living out of their trunk, 3.) RV drifter living out of their mobile home, 4.) Truck driving drifter living out of their sleepers, 5.) Motorcycle drifter living out of their saddle bags, and 6.) the International drifter living out of their suit cases.
